What We're Looking For
We are seeking an HR professional who is passionate about supporting employees and building a positive workplace experience in Japan. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, partnering closely with business leaders, and managing key HR operations in a dynamic and international environment.
The ideal candidate will bring:
2+ years of HR experience in Japan with a focus on HR Operations, HR Business Partnering, Employee Relations, or HR Administration ( HR ops/BP not recruitment).
- Experience supporting temporary (Haken/Dispatch) employees, contractor populations, or working within a staffing agency environment.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese employment practices, including:
- Labor laws and compliance
- Social insurance and statutory benefits
- Payroll coordination
- Employment contracts and HR documentation
- The ability to communicate effectively with both local and global stakeholders through business-level Japanese and English.
- Confidence in working independently and taking ownership as the primary HR point of contact in Japan, while collaborating with regional and global teams.
- Hands-on experience managing the employee lifecycle, including:
- Onboarding and orientation
- Employee records administration
- Leave and attendance management
- Employee support and HR compliance activities
- Offboarding processes
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
