Clarification from the agency

Worldwide of Area of consideration. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinary resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties

Plans, devises, and administers outdoor recreational activities at a USAG Japan.
Responsible for the overall management for the 365-days-a-year facility that includes lodging units, BOSS, Special Events, Equipment, Storage and Vehicle Rentals, Pet Kennel and a fully equipped administration office.
Within established agency policies and objectives, administers the business, financial, and recreational operation of the Community Rec Center. Maintains an accurate account of daily sales revenue, operational funds, fixed assets, and property.
Plans and coordinates the details of recurring and nonrecurring activities, special events and joint community undertakings.
Schedules and publicizes recreation activities at the USAG Japan, insuring maximum effectiveness in attracting and motivating participants and in providing the widest possible range of activities in terms of community interest and needs.

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Incumbent may be required to live on-site in government quarters. Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
Eligible citizenship is U.S. citizen or non-U.S. citizen under Japan/U.S. SOFA agreement. U.S. citizens overseas under ordinary resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

Directly related work experience that included the goals, principles, method of techniques of outdoor recreation and understanding the interest of individuals and groups.
Planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs.
Work experience supervising support staff in outdoor recreation programs.
Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":

Demonstrated experience with Non-Appropriated and Appropriated Fund budgeting and execution.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience of a diversified team.
Demonstrated experience planning and executing various outdoor recreation activities and ensuring that safety orientation is provided.
Demonstrated experience in administration of business, financial, and recreational operations of Community Recreation facilities.

Qualifications must be clearly verifiable in your resume. Government positions must include pay plan, series, grade, to and from dates, and government agency/department.

This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
Foreign overseas allowances and differentials will be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
- Post Allowance is authorized.
- Living Quarter Allowance (LQA) is authorized.
