As a Project Manager, you will lead the development, delivery, and management of engineering consultancy projects within our Marine Operations Engineering (T&I) business. Working closely with regional and global leadership, you will support business growth, manage client relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and profitably, with a particular focus on the China market.
You will take ownership of the technical, commercial, and scheduling aspects of assigned projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and resources across multiple countries and business entities. Success in this role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively within a global matrix organisation and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.
What will you be doing?

Act as the China Market Lead for the Marine Operations Engineering (T&I) business line and the local liaison for the Facilities & Subsea Engineering, Ship Design & Modification, and the Offshore Wind Design & Engineering business lines.

Work closely with colleagues across regions and disciplines to maximise opportunities and deliver integrated solutions to clients.

Lead business development, marketing, and sales activities for the Marine Operations Engineering (T&I) business, with a primary focus on the China market.

Develop client relationships, identify new opportunities, and support the growth of existing accounts.

Prepare, review, and support the approval of bids, tenders, and commercial proposals in line with the Delegation of Authority Matrix.

Represent the business in client meetings, industry events, and business development initiatives.

Manage engineering consultancy projects, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.

Provide technical consultancy services and support project delivery as required.

Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, discipline leads, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Oversee project financial performance, including invoicing, work-in-progress management, and cash collection activities in collaboration with Finance.

Supervise and mentor engineers and technical personnel to support successful project execution.

Support the development of technical capability and competency across the team.

Identify training needs and work with discipline leaders to coordinate and deliver development opportunities.

Contribute to the mentoring and professional growth of engineers while maintaining your own continuing professional development.

Promote and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, and QHSE requirements.
What are we looking for?

Degree-qualified in Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is beneficial.

10+ years of relevant industry experience, including at least 5 years in Marine Operations (T&I) engineering.

Proven experience managing complex engineering projects, multidisciplinary teams, and stakeholder relationships.

Experience in business development, sales, and client management.

Strong understanding of marine operations engineering principles, industry standards, and engineering methodologies.

Familiarity with offshore, marine structural, or naval architecture analysis and design software.

ands-on experience with engineering software such as ANSYS, AQWA, MOSES, OrcaFlex, STAAD, or similar applications.

Commercially aware, with experience managing contractual and financial aspects of projects.

Fluent in both Mandarin and English.

Experience of working in a global matrix organisation is desirable.
Further Information:
The position will be based in China (Shanghai, Tianjin, or Guangzhou) and you must have the right to live and work in China.
The role is office based with some home-based work by agreement, but may require travel to the client offices, venues, sites or other premises in the country and within the region.
