- Manage 3 accounting staff plus 1 temporary staff.
- Drive month-end/quarter-end/year-end close process for legal entities in Japan, in collaboration with local stakeholders, AP (Accounts Payable), Billing and SCM (Supplier Credit Management) teams, as well as, Regional and HQ Accounting. Ensure close is being completed timely and with no significant issues:
- Review PL and Balance Sheet flux and provide commentaries for material variances
- Provide insights and explanations to key balance sheet aging analyses
- Manual Journal entry review and approval
- Quality and timely review of balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare for group audit (rolling up to US corporate audit) and local annual statutory audits for timely completion, with effective management of audit fees.
- Be the day to day contact point for external audit, internal audit and Tax audit
- Maintain General Ledger and Treasury related processes in proper conditions based on the SOX control and be the owner of those controls.
- Provide technical U.S. GAAP and SOX expertise and guidance to the organization in line with updated accounting standards and control requirements
- Prepare annual statutory reporting (JGAAP) and preparation of tax returns not only national taxes but also local taxes
- Lead day to day cash management and ensure that the company maintains sufficient liquidity while maintaining global cash concentration.
- Support Regional Treasury team to execute treasury, financing and cash management locally in Japan
- Work on various initiatives led by country or regional finance accounting team.
