About the Position
We are currently hiring for a long-term Tokyo-based Japanese School Marketing Associate who can speak both languages Japanese and English. Based at the UIS Japan office in Tokyo, the ideal candidate will take an active, on-the-ground role in promoting UIS and growing Japanese student enrollment. Working closely with a Japanese Student Counselling Team based at UIS Toronto, the Associate will independently drive school marketing activities across Japan — including visiting educational agencies, delivering school presentations, counselling prospective students and parents, and participating in educational fairs and events. This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable representing UIS independently in the Japanese market.
While each country lead manages their own market independently, the Japan Associate will also have access to UIS's other Asia-based School Marketing Associates in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Taipei, and Seoul, operating within similar time zones for general school-related questions. As the Toronto-based team visits Japan only 1–2 times per year, the Japan Associate will serve as the primary, on-the-ground driver of student recruitment for UIS in the Japanese market, with strategic guidance and support from the UIS Management and Japan Team at Toronto headquarters — making growth of Team Japan's enrollment numbers the top priority for the role.

The Contractor is also responsible for collecting pre-enrollment documents (including application forms, transcripts, passports, and any other required materials) from educational agencies and parents in Japan, and forwarding them accurately and in a timely manner to the designated Japanese Team at UIS Toronto for processing.

The Contractor shall also work closely with the UIS Japanese team in Toronto to ensure smooth communication and coordination between the Japan office and the Toronto headquarters.
4. The Contractor shall support the preparation and localization of UIS marketing materials by translating official English content into Japanese and coordinating with the UIS Design Team & UIS Japan Team in Toronto to produce materials suitable for the Japanese market, including brochures, presentations, and digital content.
5. The Contractor is responsible for tracking prospective student inquiries and maintaining an up-to-date enrollment pipeline. In addition to daily reporting, the Contractor shall submit structured weekly and monthly reports to the Management Team summarizing recruitment progress, agency activity, and any notable trends in the Japanese education market that may impact UIS’s student registration strategy. The Contractor is also responsible for reporting activities in detail to the President via email and Microsoft Teams on a regular basis.
