Mirai Minds is looking for dynamic educators to lead our various skill based programs across international schools in Tokyo and Yokohama.
This is not a traditional teaching role. We are looking for individuals who can engage, challenge, and inspire students through hands-on learning experiences.
You will be working with students in small groups, guiding them through structured, project-based programs where they build, create, and problem-solve.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitate sessions using structured lesson plans
- Support students in building projects
- Create an engaging, interactive classroom environment
- Adapt delivery based on student levels and pace
- Manage classroom flow and ensure a positive learning experience
- Capture basic documentation (photos/videos) of sessions when required

Job Requirements
Mirai Minds is looking for energetic Specialist Teachers in Music (singing, instruments) to join our growing team across Tokyo, Yokohama and Nagoya. This is a dynamic, on-ground role involving leading engaging skill based activity sessions, supporting afterschool programs across categories such as:
- Music - Singing
- Music for Early Years
- Instruments such as Ukulele, Pianica, Violin, Keyboard
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fun, structured sessions for children (we conduct classes for 18 months - 18 years)
- Facilitate activities, games, and basic skill-building exercises
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and high-energy learning environment
- Step in as a substitute teacher across different programs when needed
- Support classroom management and student engagement
- Coordinate with the Mirai Minds team for smooth session delivery
Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about working with children and promoting active lifestyles
- Experience in the skill based programs applying for
- Comfortable managing groups of young children independently
- Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt quickly to different class environments
- Prior experience in schools, camps, or afterschool programs preferred
Requirements:
- Fluent in English (required)
- Valid visa to work in Japan
- Prior experience working with children (teaching, coaching, or camps)
- Energetic, responsible, and punctual
- Ability to travel within Tokyo/Yokohama
