Dotted to Global Communications Director for Hotels & Resorts

Job responsibilities

Position Overview :

The Senior PR Manager leads public relations for Bulgari Hotel Tokyo and BVLGARI Ginza Tower BHR, with responsibility for strengthening brand desirability, visibility, and reputation in Japan in line with Bulgari’s global vision and standards.

This role defines and executes the local PR strategy across media, VIP and KOL engagement, partnerships, events, and corporate communications. Acting as a key link between Bulgari Hotel Tokyo, Bulgari Japan, and global headquarters, the Senior PR Manager ensures that local initiatives support both brand equity and business objectives. The Senior PR manager also oversees the PR communications for BHR Tokyo guiding the PR associate who is dedicated to the BHR team.

Profile

Strategy and Brand Positioning

Define and lead the annual PR strategy and communications calendar for Bulgari Hotel Tokyo and BHR in line with business priorities and global direction while keeping in mind
Develop relevant storytelling and communication angles around key business moments, seasonal initiatives, partnerships, and brand activations.
Identify opportunities to enhance visibility, support commercial objectives, and reinforce Bulgari Hotel Tokyo’s position in the luxury hospitality market.
Ensure all PR activities and external communications reflect Bulgari’s brand image and standards.

Media Relations

Build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier Japanese media, key editors, journalists, broadcasters, and selected international media.
Lead proactive media outreach to secure high-quality earned coverage across luxury, lifestyle, travel, business, and cultural platforms.
Oversee the development of press materials, including press releases, media pitches, presentations, briefing notes, and reports.
Act as the main contact for media opportunities, interview requests, and press-related matters.

VIP, KOL and Partnerships

Lead engagement with VIPs, celebrities, influencers, and KOLs to strengthen brand desirability and relevance.
Identify and develop endorsement, hosting, and partnership opportunities aligned with Bulgari’s positioning.
Maintain a strong network of relevant opinion leaders and brand advocates in the local market.

Events and Activations

Oversee the PR planning and execution of press events, launches, media stays, and brand experiences.
Define guest strategy, messaging, and visibility objectives for each activation.
Ensure high standards of execution across communications, logistics, guest management, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Support corporate and commercial events with appropriate PR planning and follow-up.

Stakeholder Management and Reporting

Act as the principal PR counterpart for Bulgari Hotel Tokyo leadership, Bulgari Japan, and Global Communications teams.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to align on upcoming initiatives, priorities, and communication opportunities.
Monitor media exposure and PR performance, and provide regular analysis and recommendations.
Manage PR budgets and external agencies where applicable.

Additional information

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or media, ideally within luxury hospitality, luxury lifestyle, fashion, or other high-end environments.
Strong understanding of the Japanese luxury media landscape, with an established network across key media, editors, journalists, KOLs, and VIP communities.
Proven ability to lead strategic PR initiatives that support brand positioning and business objectives.
Strong knowledge of digital communications, social media, and influencer engagement.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English.
Solid experience in event communications and high-profile brand activations.
Strong sense of brand image, discretion, and professionalism.
Excellent planning, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
Proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented.
