全ての障害に関して、社内のカスタマーに経緯の報告及び原因、修正の適用について説明責任を持ちます。また、海外のITリモートサポートチームとも連携し標準化されたサポート手順の導入を行うことによりさらに効率的なサポートの提供を目指します。 これらの日々の障害対応に加え、新規サイトローンチを含む多くのITプロジェクトにおいてオンサイトで実施可能なシステム構築、工事関連、ベンダー管理等の作業・報告業務も行います。 本マネージャーはSr.Managementと連携を取りながらIT内外の各チームと連携を取りプロジェクトを成功に導きます。配送センターを拠点とするサポートエンジニアチームをリードしてスタッフ採用しかつ教育を行うことも重要な役割の1つです。

The Operations Technology Solutions (OTS) organization is seeking a manager to lead our IT support team. This team supports the IT systems that ensure the delivery speed and quality essential to providing an exceptional customer experience at Amazon, a company experiencing rapid and continuous growth. The primary mission of this role includes managing on-site IT Managers who support daily operations at each facility, providing troubleshooting support, and driving domestic and international projects. When incidents occur, you will coordinate with on-site operations staff at delivery stations and overseas engineering teams to ensure issues are resolved in the shortest possible time.
As the team manager and leader of the IT infrastructure management and operations team that supports Amazon's logistics network, you will drive technological innovation and operational excellence on a global scale.
You will be accountable for reporting the status, root cause, and remediation of all incidents to internal customers. You will also collaborate with overseas IT remote support teams to implement standardized support procedures, aiming to deliver increasingly efficient support. In addition to daily incident response, you will be responsible for on-site system deployment, construction-related coordination, vendor management, and associated reporting across numerous IT projects, including new site launches. This manager will work closely with Senior Management to coordinate with teams both within and outside of IT to drive projects to successful completion. Leading the support engineer team based at delivery stations—including recruiting and developing staff—is also a critical aspect of this role.
This position is part of the APAC OTS organization, which encompasses Japan, India, Australia, and Singapore. This role encompasses quality management of IT maintenance operations and troubleshooting, project management and team oversight, as well as IT budget development and management. The manager will also be responsible for staffing and shift management, and for driving continuous improvement of IT operational processes. In a 24/7 production environment, you will support smooth operations at each site by resolving complex hardware, software, server, and infrastructure issues.
This position requires an individual who combines technical excellence with strong business acumen and can demonstrate IT leadership in a rapidly growing business environment. The ability to identify challenges and drive them to resolution with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment is essential.
A day in the life
As a manager for the Japan region, your day revolves around team management, participating in OTS regional meetings and regular syncs with Fulfillment Centers to assess on-site needs and deploy optimal solutions. You drive swift incident response and address customer requests through KPI monitoring, collaborating closely with site leaders and the Japan Business Director. Active participation in safety initiatives is expected. This role demands technical leadership rooted in IT infrastructure expertise, combined with strong stakeholder relationships, to establish a sustainable operational framework balancing safety and efficiency in a dynamic business environment.
About the team
As part of OTS (Operations Technology Solutions), a global organization, this team manages complex IT environments—hardware, software, servers, and network infrastructure—to ensure smooth operations across 24/7 Fulfillment Centers. The role requires balancing global standards and initiatives with the unique needs of local sites, coordinating across time zones with international teams while overseeing multiple Fulfillment Centers in Japan. As the Japan IT team leader, you will make decisions informed by each site's operational realities and internal customer needs, driving execution with the flexibility to adapt to diverse and evolving requirements.
- Education & Language: Bachelor's degree in Engineering/CS or equivalent experience; business-level Japanese and English proficiency (TOEIC 800+)
- IT & People Management: 3+ years of IT management experience in logistics/mission-critical environments, including people management (team development, performance management, and stakeholder collaboration)
- Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience in Linux/Unix, Windows, network infrastructure (L2/L3), and system architecture; specialized expertise in at least one area (network design, Linux admin, Microsoft, or CISCO)
- Leadership & Business Acumen: Demonstrated trust-building, decision-making in ambiguous situations, IT budget planning, project management, and effective collaboration with global teams; strong ownership and adaptability
- Work Flexibility: Willingness to travel domestically/internationally and relocate as needed
- Advanced Education & Certifications: MBA or Master's degree in a technical field; ITIL/Prince2 certifications
- Senior Management Experience: 5+ years managing manager-level staff; track record of leading global IT projects; practical knowledge of service delivery, SLA management, and IT asset lifecycle management
- Technical Depth & Innovation: Deep understanding of core internet technologies (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP); experience designing and implementing automation systems; ability to stay current with emerging technologies
- Global & Cross-Cultural Leadership: Business-level English proficiency; experience in global organizations; cross-cultural team management; ability to build inclusive environments leveraging diverse perspectives
