As the Global Execution Services technology division for Nomura’s Wholesale IT, the group provides brokerage services solutions to clients in over 65 markets around the world. Through its advanced suite of electronic trading strategies, experienced high-touch trading group, top-ranked Commission Management services, award winning desktop trading platform, and unparalleled access to insightful analytics, content and unique liquidity, Nomura helps institutions lower overall trading costs and ultimately improve investment performance.
Nomura’s proprietary algorithmic trading systems that address our client’s diverse range of trading styles and goals. The platform trades a significant portion of client order flow per day globally and represents a business critical system for the firm. We provide a core set of global, event-driven, multi asset trading strategies and deploy a library of regularly updated component tactics and extensive controls to refine behavior. Clients can easily tailor strategies to meet specific objectives.
The team works closely with the Quants to bring new strategies to the market and to constantly evolve the portfolio of the algorithmic offerings of the firm. The role requires an excellent technologist with deep experience in mission critical and highly evolving systems.

Responsibilities：

Serve as the regional lead for GES Technology in Japan, acting as the primary contact for all regional technology requirements related to GES.
Lead a development team that builds and delivers new functionality within the low latency execution trading space
Be involved in the overall design and architecture of the trading platform
Proven sell-side experience within a global investment bank or a similarly complex trading environment is highly valued, with multi-asset class exposure being particularly advantageous. Experience in supporting FX or other electronic trading businesses that require low-latency solutions is especially relevant.
Demonstrated experience operating within a regulated, corporate governance framework, ensuring infrastructure aligns with cybersecurity, resiliency, and operational risk standards
Participate in Japan finance industry forums to influence Tokyo stock exchange technology direction
Interface with Japan finance industry regulator JFSA
Proven ability to lead global, distributed engineering teams and guide organizations through transformation, modernization, and operating model evolution.

Requirements

Requirements：

＜Essential＞

Experience leading small development teams to deliver new functionality and support critical business systems.
Candidates should have a proven history of developing and delivering innovative front office trading engine functionalities.
Experience in managing a diverse portfolio of work involving multiple stakeholders is crucial. This includes demonstrating clear prioritization and effective communication to ensure smooth delivery and alignment of objectives across the organization.
Keen knowledge of Japan regulatory landscape
5+ years of experience in design and development of electronic trading system for equity markets.
Bachelor or Master degree in computer science, engineering or related disciplines
Business level bilingual in Japanese and English.

＜Preferred＞

Experience in CI/CD automation
Exposure to distributed systems and message oriented architecture
Understanding and ideally hands on experience working with event driven systems
Experience working with financial markets and understanding of local market characteristics
Good knowledge of networks, TCP/IP and enterprise messaging solutions
*JSDA (Japan Securities Dealers Association) Sales Representative Qualification
