We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join our team in deploying a custom AI-powered consolidation assessment application for a major Japanese enterprise. You’ll work on a modern, scalable stack with a strong emphasis on AI model validation, enterprise compliance, and high-stakes quality assurance.
Project Overview
This project involves the final deployment and handover of a sophisticated RAG-based AI platform. Your goal is to ensure the application meets rigorous non-functional, functional, and operational requirements within a strict Japanese corporate compliance framework.
About the Role
As the primary QA interface between our development team and the client’s IT department, you will lead the verification strategy for a complex AI ecosystem. You will be responsible for translating technical requirements into comprehensive test plans and ensuring the platform’s reliability across security, performance, and AI accuracy.
Tech Stack
REST API (Postman/curl), Manual Testing, Automated Testing (pytest, Playwright, Cypress), Azure OpenAI, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), Azure (Container Apps, Blob Storage), Browser-based E2E testing, OCR processing, RBAC/IAM systems, SQL/NoSQL, GitHub Issues, Azure DevOps, Excel-based test matrices, AI Document Analysis, NLP systems, Disaster Recovery (DR) verification.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Compliance Testing: Review and interpret Japanese IT compliance documents to develop comprehensive test plans covering Unit, Integration, Parallel Operation, and UAT phases.
- Validate AI & RAG Pipelines: Execute specialized testing for AI document analysis, focusing on prompt accuracy, source citation, and OCR processing precision.
- Manage Enterprise Security: Verify complex RBAC/IAM systems, user access management, and non-functional areas including encryption, SSO, and vulnerability assessments.
- Execute Technical QA: Perform REST API testing, performance load testing, and disaster recovery verification to ensure system availability and data retention.
- Bridge Communication: Act as the technical liaison, preparing documentation in Japanese and translating testing artifacts for the English-speaking development team.
- Drive Quality Standards: Maintain test environment configurations and execute regression testing to validate production accuracy against baseline Streamlit PoCs.
Requirements
- Native or JLPT N1 Japanese proficiency (written and verbal) and professional English.
- 3+ years of Senior QA experience in enterprise software environments.
- Proven experience with REST API testing and automated frameworks like pytest, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Strong background in documenting security and compliance-focused test cases.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services and AI/ML application testing (RAG/NLP).
- Experience in Japanese financial sector standards or Big 4 professional services is highly preferred.
