WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
The Senior Accountant will support Japan Finance Controlling, reporting to the Manager Inventory Supply Chain, and partnering with global and Japan‑based teams. The role enables accurate, compliant financial reporting through close cross‑functional collaboration.

Nike seeks a Senior Accountant with strong technical accounting capability and proven operational discipline. Minimum 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Strong working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), Japanese Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (JGAAP), and Japan tax regulations
Hands‑on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
Strong Excel competency with analytical strength
US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is preferred
Fluent in Japanese and English; strong communication skills
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
You will serve as the primary point of contact for offshore Managed Service Provider, ensuring timely and accurate execution of inventory accounting activities across month-end close cycles, while driving continuous improvements in quality, efficiency, and process standardization.
Own and manage key inventory accounting processes, including inventory close, costing, reserves, inventory adjustments, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) related activities—ensuring financial accuracy and alignment between operational and financial inventory flows
Review and analyze perpetual inventory records, partnering with business stakeholders to investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions
Lead and maintain internal controls over financial reporting related to inventory, cost accounting, and balance sheet accounts, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements
Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain Operations, Distribution Centers, and commercial teams to provide accounting guidance on inventory-related matters, including product flows, promotional activities, and cost implications
Ensure key financial assertions are met by establishing and maintaining a robust control framework, supported by a strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain and inventory processes
Build strong partnerships across local and global teams, contributing to Nike Finance Controlling through best practices, process improvements, and transformation initiatives
