Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Specialist
The Opportunity:
As an artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) Specialist, you will serve as the technical lead for Maven Smart System integration with the client’s branch. This pivotal role will drive the adoption and advancement of enterprise-level AI/ML capabilities across operational and decision-making frameworks, ensuring seamless connectivity between locally developed models and the broader Department of Defense AI ecosystem. The selected candidate will architect, build, and deploy production-grade AI-driven solutions and automated workflows, manage scalable data pipelines, and provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams. Candidates must possess a strong background in software engineering, data engineering, or MLOps, with demonstrated experience in integrating DoD AI systems, deep proficiency in Python, API development, and cloud-based AI/ML platforms. You Have:
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or MLOps roles

2+ years of experience integrating with DoD AI systems, including Foundry AIP or Gaia

Experience using Python

Experience building and consuming APIs such as REST and gRPC, for system-to-system integration

Experience architecting end-to-end AI/ML solutions, including data pipelines and operational workflows

Experience in designing, building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade AI/ML systems and automated workflows

Knowledge of software engineering best practices

Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in CS or Software Engineering
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with MLOps tools and frameworks such as Kubeflow, MLflow, or Airflow

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms, including Azure ML or AWS SageMaker

Experience working in government cloud environments

Experience developing scalable data pipelines for real-time inference and integration with enterprise-level AI platforms

Ability to optimize performance of ML models and data pipelines for speed and scalability

Ability to provide technical leadership to software developers and analysts

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
