Responsibilities:
The Operating Manager (OM) will lead and drive R&D activities within the CSG HFM COE, with a primary focus on the development of Quantum Control Systems (QCS). This role is responsible for defining technical strategy and roadmap, while ensuring alignment with business objectives in terms of schedule, cost, and performance. The manager will coordinate and guide cross-functional global teams across hardware, FPGA, RF, and software domains, enabling effective execution of complex system-level projects. In addition, the role involves driving key architectural decisions, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans, and fostering strong collaboration across international sites. The OM will also play a critical role in team development, including hiring, coaching, and building organizational capability for future growth.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field (PhD is a plus)

Strong leadership experience in R&D or product development organizations

Solid background in either of RF, FPGA, or high-speed system design

Experience managing complex system-level projects with global teams

Business-level Japanese and English communication skills

Proven ability to drive execution under ambiguity and evolving requirements
Preferred:

Experience in quantum computing, measurement systems, or advanced instrumentation

Familiarity with system architecture and hardware/software co-design
