Job Description: Forge is seeking a qualified full-time Logistics Management Specialist with emphasis on Naval Logistics to provide subject matter expertise to transfer material between Japan and the Continental United States (CONUS) in support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs, while identifying risks and associated mitigation strategies and assessing opportunities for process improvement. This position will be located in Sasebo, Japan and support the Department of Navy (DoN) Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Mission Systems; PAE Mission Systems forges decisive combat power by unifying Naval acquisition to rapidly deliver superior information and warfare capabilities. Additionally, this position will include Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities: Key responsibilities of the candidate will be (but aren't limited to):
Establish logistics processes and procedures that align with US and Government of Japan laws, regulations, and processes
Demonstrate use and understanding of military ordering and receipt, storage, and distribution
Provide logistical subject matter expertise, including document preparation and necessary corrections, to preempt and quickly resolve issues in the classified and unclassified transfer process both in-country and to and from the Continental United States
Identify program risks and develop risk mitigation strategies; provide recommendations for resolution
Provide recommendations and input to the US-Japan Foreign Military Sales classified and unclassified material transfer process
Foster transparent communication with stakeholders involved in transportation, receipt and delivery and transfer of material
Provide in-country courier services between facilities
Control equipment inventory in accordance with Department of War (DoW) and DoN directives
Liaise with USN supply departments, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Naval Facilities (NAVFAC), Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), in-country technicians, and other personnel
Update and track requisitions within required database(s) and excel spreadsheets with information gathered from USN databases such as the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS) or R-Supply, as well as information gathered from Item Managers
Build and maintain spreadsheets and databases and utilize to create metrics related data
Prepare draft responses, briefings, and memorandums as required
Develop meeting minutes and action items, as needed
Knowledge of a wide range of federal and agency logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to a full range of logistics management to include cargo movement, supply chain management, inventory management, equipment and vehicles management, and warehousing
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
Knowledge and ability to navigate financial avenues such as G-Invoicing, Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requisition (MIPR), Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP), direct requisition, and Task Planning Sheets (TPS)
Researches, verifies, and determines proper methods for packing, preservation for transportation, storage and disposal of DoW materials
Acts as primary shipping and receiving coordinator; checks for receipt, shipment, and delivery of government freight
Operates material handling equipment
Conducts cross-training to all other Forge employees in Japan with regard to logistics operations

Minimum Qualifications:
- US Citizen
Active U.S. DoW SECRET security clearance required
Bachelor's degree (or in lieu of a degree, significant DoW logistics experience of 9+ years covering all required areas of this position)
5+ years of DoW logistics experience
Currently resides in Japan
Highly Desired Qualifications:
DoN FMS logistics experience
Military Financial Systems background
Regional or functional experience in the Asia-Pacific region
Limited working proficiency in the Japanese language
Resides in Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo (CFAS) Local Area
