9. Application Documents
(1) Desired position: Please indicate whether you are applying for Associate Professor, Lecturer,
or either position.
(2) A Curriculum Vitae (attach an ID photo, an email address, any affiliated academic societies,
reward and punishment)
(3) An outline of teaching experience in the field of specialization. 1) lectures taught and/or their
evaluation, 2) experiences in instructing graduation research etc, 3) Awards received by
supervised students. (one A4 page)
(4) A list of research achievements. 1) peer-reviewed original scientific papers, 2) books, 3) papers
for international conferences (separate into peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed), 4)
review/commentary papers, 5) research reports, 6) oral presentations. If the applicant is the first
author or corresponding author for 1), mark the name of the author of the paper with an asterisk
(*).
(5) Five copies of your actual scientific papers that represent your work (photocopies are accepted)
(6) An outline of past research achievements (two A4 pages)
(7) A list of external grants received. 1) Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, 2) joint research
grants, 3) donations for education and research, 4) commissioned research, etc. Include a
principal investigator and co-investigators.
(8) Aspirations for research and education at Iwate University (two A4 pages)
(9) Name, affiliation, and contact information of two professional references who are willing to be
contacted about the applicant
(10) Any other documents for reference. 1) experiences in being an official or member of an
academic society/association or national/prefectural/municipal government, 2) taking a position
or being a committee member at your current institution, 3) study abroad, international
conference management, etc.
10. Application Period: From July 1, 2026 to no later than September 30, 2026
11. Selection Process
The selection process will be conducted in two stages.
Primary screening: documents screening
Secondary screening: interviews
Applicants will be notified of the results immediately after the screening (details for the
secondary screening will be provided to any applicants who passed the primary screening) by
email.
