General Position Description
Cleared American Worker – Carpentry & Architectural Finishes – Federal Government Projects
General Responsibilities
Carpentry & Architectural Installation
-
Perform architectural and structural demolition as required for renovation projects
-
Layout, install & finish metal stud framing, insulation and gypsum wall board
- Install Sound Transmission Class (STC) 45+ and Radio Frequency (RF) door frame/door assemblies that will meet 3rd party testing requirements
-
Install door hardware to include electrified locksets, mechanical access control devices, CDX-10 electromechanical high security combination lock and LKM10K X-10 Lock Series Systems

Layout and install acoustical ceiling tile systems, including seismic components
-
Layout and install flooring, to include VCT, anti-static floor tiles, carpet, and raised access flooring
-
Layout, assemble and install furniture, including cubicle partitions, desks and overheads
-
Perform installation of RF Shielding & acoustic (STC) mitigation equipment/materials per ICD/ICS 705, UFC 4-010-05 and “Best Practices Guideline For Architectural Radio Frequency Shielding”

Assist and work with all other trades on the project site
-
Assist with unloading, handling and hauling of construction materials from shipping containers.
- Understand the use of and safely use various hand and power tools
Code & Regulatory Compliance

Perform all work in accordance with the International Building Code, ADA/ABA/UFAS/NFPA standards and applicable state and local amendments
-
Comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 & USACE EM-385-1-1 construction safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
-
Adhere to applicable Federal technical specifications (e.g., Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) & Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC))
Federal Contract Compliance
-
Complete required background checks, security clearances, and facility badging processes
-
Complete mandatory safety training (e.g., OSHA 30, site-specific orientation, EM 385-1-1 where applicable)
Documentation & Quality Control
-
Assist in completing daily reports, material logs, and labor tracking as required
-
Maintain accurate as-built drawings and document field changes as required
-
Maintain quality control documentation, including inspection checklists and test reports as required
-
Report safety incidents, near-misses, and violations promptly per site protocol
Safety & Site Conduct
-
Wear and maintain required PPE at all times
-
Participate in daily/weekly safety briefings and toolbox talks
-
Follow site-specific security procedures for Federal facility access
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
-
Immediately report changed conditions, code conflicts, or design discrepancies to supervision
Coordination
-
Coordinate daily with the Site Superintendent and Quality Control Manager
-
Communicate with inspectors and Government Quality Assurance representatives during scheduled inspections
-
Attend project progress meetings and provide electrical scope status updates as required
-
Collaborate with engineers on RFIs related to mechanical & plumbing design
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crouching, kneeling, crawling or stretching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum Qualification: A bachelor's degree; OR an associate's degree plus 4 years of recent specialized experience; OR a high school diploma plus 8 years of recent specialized experience

This position requires having and maintaining a U.S. Government Security Clearance. Candidates must be a U.S. citizen and possess a security clearance at the Secret level. Failure to maintain the required clearance may result in termination of employment.

U.S. Federal government project experience required

Demonstrated experience completing complex construction projects, including the ability to manage varying project conditions such as difficult clients and complex scopes of work

Extensive knowledge of multiple construction trades for effective trade coordination

Working knowledge and application of ICD/ICS 705 and UFC 4-010-05
-
Working knowledge of ADA, ABA, UFAS & NFPA standards, OSHA, and USACE EM 385-1-1 safety requirements

Exceptional teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills

Proficient in both renovation and new construction projects
-
Valid 10-year passport with at least 2 years of remaining validity, or a valid 4-year passport with at least 2 years of remaining validity, preferred
