Your Job
Product Design Engineer| 製品設計エンジニア |
Our Team
PSBU is working across the United States, India, Singapore, Shanghai, Japan, and Korea, fostering active technical collaboration and continuously striving to enhance our engineering capabilities. Our development efforts focus on customer-driven connector solutions as well as wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connectors (2.5 mm pitch and more narrow) for the general market. While pursuing high performance, we also take on the challenge of miniaturization and high-density design.
PSBU consists of three core functions: Engineering, Product Management, and Project Management. We place great value on teamwork-each function leverages its strengths, while also understanding and supporting one another to maximize overall contribution.
With the rapid expansion of AI and the resulting diversification of information, the market is demanding connectors with higher-speed transmission and greater density. This has created significant opportunities for new product development, and we are currently expanding our team to meet these growing needs.
What You Will Do
The primary responsibility of this role is the design and development of connectors-particularly wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connectors-based on customer requirements.
Connector design and development
Leverage expertise in high-speed signal transmission and mechanical engineering to interpret customer requirements and translate them into robust design specifications.
- Apply knowledge of electronic component manufacturing to ensure manufacturability, quality stability, and cost efficiency in the design.
- Conduct DFMEA, FEA, tolerance analysis, and other theoretical evaluations to validate designs and assess potential risks.
- Lead technical design reviews with cross-functional project teams, including both domestic and international members, and provide technical leadership throughout development.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and production sites worldwide to incorporate manufacturing feedback into the design.
- Work closely with project team members to meet schedule commitments and ensure timely product release.
- Engage in technical discussions with customers-both online and through on-site visits-to support new product development.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
Knowledge of high-speed signal transmission performance and mechanical engineering relevant to connector design
- Understanding of connector manufacturing processes
- Hands-on experience with 2D and 3D parametric CAD tools in a professional setting
- Knowledge of materials, with the ability to evaluate performance, cost, and manufacturability
- Ability to build respectful relationships and demonstrate strong teamwork
- Proficiency in reading technical documents in English and communicating via email
- Alignment with our PBM philosophy
- Japanese: Daily conversation level (JLPT N2 level)
- English: Business intermediate level
What Will Put You Ahead
- 5-10 years of connector design experience
- Ability to make independent decisions and negotiate with stakeholders
