Job Summary
Language on Demand, Inc. is seeking a qualified Roman Catholic Priest to provide Catholic religious and spiritual support services at Misawa Air Base, Japan.
The selected priest will support Catholic military personnel, their family members, and other authorized personnel through Mass, sacraments, pastoral care, religious education, and Catholic community support. The position is performed in coordination with the 35th Fighter Wing Chapel staff and in accordance with the requirements of the Archdiocese for the Military Services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Sunday, Holy Day, and daily Mass.
Provide sacramental ministry, including Baptism, First Eucharist, Confirmation, Penance, Marriage, and Sacrament of the Sick.
Provide pastoral counseling and spiritual care to Catholic military members, families, and authorized personnel.
Support Catholic religious education, sacramental preparation, RCIA, young adult ministry, and spiritual enrichment programs.
Coordinate with chapel staff in a multi-faith military environment.
Recruit, organize, and train Catholic volunteers as needed.
Maintain required reports, schedules, records, and documentation.
Comply with base access, security, safety, and child protection requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be a Roman Catholic Priest in good standing with home diocese and the Archdiocese for the Military Services.
Must have or be able to provide a valid DD Form 2088.
Must meet applicable education and experience requirements under DoDI 1304.28.
Must have a bachelor’s degree and a post-baccalaureate graduate degree in theological or related studies.
Must be fluent in English.
Must be able to pass required background checks, including requirements related to work involving children under 18.
Must be able to work on-site at Misawa Air Base, Japan.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior military chapel, military community, or government contract experience.
Experience providing Catholic religious services in a pluralistic or multi-faith environment.
Experience with Catholic religious education, sacramental preparation, and pastoral counseling.
