Job overview and responsibility
We are looking for an experienced IT Sales Leader to drive business growth in the Japanese market. This role will be responsible for building client relationships, leading the sales team, and delivering revenue targets in IT services/solutions
- Develop and execute sales strategies for the Japanese market
- Identify, approach, and manage relationships with Japanese clients
- Lead and mentor the sales/account team to achieve KPIs
- Collaborate with delivery teams to create tailored proposals
- Handle negotiations, contracts, and pricing discussions
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities
Required skills and experiences
- 5+ years of experience in IT Sales / Business Development
- Proven experience working with Japanese clients
- Knowledge of IT outsourcing / offshore development
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Preferred skills and experiences
- Existing network in the Japanese market
- Experience in selling AI, Cloud, or Digital Transformation solutions - Understanding of Japanese business culture/market

Additional information:
Suitable profiles:
- Japanese (preferred) or Vietnamese with N2 or above – The Japanese client only responds to Japanese candidates; approaching with other nationalities is almost ineffective.
- Background in IT outsourcing or SaaS/HRTech – The company has strengths in HRTech (payroll, attendance, back-office). Candidates who understand this domain will shorten the ramp-up time and be able to pitch with the right focus.
- Hunter-leader: able to build own pipeline, pitch, and close deals independently – Must be self-sufficient and lead a team of 3–4 IT salespeople.
- Experience managing pipeline, creating estimations and proposals – Tomodev needs someone who can run a deal independently from start to finish without requiring much support.
Unsuitable profiles:
Team: Sales Leader leading 3–4 IT salespeople, reporting directly to the CEO (who is currently leading sales).
Compensation: Based in Japan. Salary range is open. Commission: 5% with no cap, lifelong (Year 1: 2%, Year 2+: 2.5%, applicable as long as the client remains active with Tomodev). 100% salary during probation.
