This exciting role is the first legal hire for this well-established company and covers all legal and compliance matters as well as offering the opportunity to handle data privacy. This storied medical technology company is at the cutting edge and is one of the market leaders in its field globally, with a strong foothold in Japan. Flextime and remote work options available.
Main responsibilities:
- Supporting and counseling the company on all strategic business transactions
- Contract drafting/negotiation
- Establishing necessary internal legal and compliance frameworks
- Ensuring compliance with necessary laws, regulations and practices
- Develop and enhance the company's compliance profile
- Act as the company data privacy officer

- 5+ years of in-house legal function with healthcare industry experience

- Excellent communication skills in English and Japanese
- Ability to communicate legal ideas clearly and concisely to colleagues and senior management
- Independent, can-do approach
