The Consulting & Analytics team is a key growth area for the business and one that is expanding rapidly. The team is global with presence in the US, Europe and Asia, and works directly with clients on a project basis, providing strategic support and advisory services leveraging the full breadth of capabilities across Norstella. We work with a range of client organisations globally – including major global pharma, startup biotechs, and pharma industry suppliers, advisors, and investors.
Our clients are generally senior-level decision makers in need of support to ensure they are properly informed to make those decisions, all the way up to C-level executives.
In this role of Sr Associate you will occupy a key position in the Consulting & Analytics team, with a particular focus on supporting delivery of client projects in the areas of product strategy, portfolio strategy, and BD&L strategy. You will work directly with clients on a project basis, providing strategic support based on a foundation of Norstella data.

Client project execution: You will work closely with the global Consulting & Analytics team to deliver client consulting projects to a high standard. You will get involved in diverse projects with both qualitative and quantitative components. Key responsibilities include:

Playing a key role as a project team member, working in a matrix structure; supporting multiple projects in parallel

Liaising with clients and project teams directly to deliver successful project outcomes
-
Contributing directly to project execution including data collection/analysis, model development, deliverable/slide development, synthesis of findings and recommendations, applying AI tools as appropriate, and delivering those outcomes to clients

Project work may comprise:
i. Analysis of data from Norstella data sources, trend assessment, analysing patterns, transforming and manipulating data, and synthesising quantitative information
ii. Developing models to address specific project requirements (e.g. scoring frameworks, prioritisation frameworks, forecasts)
iii. Conducting secondary research, literature review, and synthesising qualitative information
iv. Developing primary research materials (e.g. surveys, questionnaires, discussion guides) and executing primary research (e.g. conducting KOL interviews)
v. Developing an evidence base and hypotheses to test
vi. Developing insights and recommendations aligned to hypotheses and project/client goals
vii. Developing client deliverables (reports, data models, etc)
viii. Directly participating in client calls/meetings during project execution and to deliver and discuss the findings and recommendations -
You will work with clients in both Japan and globally per business needs, and work with both the local Japan office and global colleagues

Bilingual in Japanese and English

Knowledge and expertise of the pharma landscape with a focus on R&D strategy, market assessments/research, and opportunity assessment

At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in commercially-focused and client-facing roles (e.g. consulting, pharma), working closely with consulting delivery organisations to drive business growth

Great understanding of biopharma industry trends and dynamics

Bachelors degree in a scientific/life science

Travel: variable based on client/project needs

Existing knowledge of Norstella data assets and platforms (e.g. Evaluate Pharma, PharmaProjects, Trial Trove, real-word data, epidemiology) would be advantageous but is not essential

Advanced degree (PhD or MBA) in a relevant field is advantageous
