Araya is seeking proactive researchers passionate about NeuroAI and the Science of Consciousness

仕事概要

Araya Inc. is seeking multiple researchers to join our cutting-edge research team in NeuroAI and the Science of Consciousness. We aim to bridge neuroscience, mathematics, philosophy, and artificial intelligence to uncover the computational principles underlying intelligence and consciousness. Successful candidates will work on one or more of the following research themes: (1) Scaling Laws for Brain Decoding & Large-Scale Brain Foundation Models ・Decoding brain signals from large-scale datasets (EEG, MEG, ECoG, MEA, etc.) ・Empirical investigation of scaling laws in neural decoding ・Development of state-of-the-art multimodal deep learning models ・Building foundational AI models for neural data Related works: https://arxiv.org/abs/2407.07595 https://arxiv.org/abs/2506.13835 (2) Computational models of Consciousness ・Develop computational models of consciousness based on non-trivial ・information closure (NTIC) or other related theories ・Build predictive AI models to identify NTIC cores in neural data (e.g., spikes, ECoG) Related works: https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/psychology/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2020.01504/full (3) Mathematical Theories of Consciousness ・Explore structural frameworks for continuity, qualia, and symmetry in consciousness ・Integrate (co)algebraic and geometric approaches across neuroscience and AI Related works: https://osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/c6jnd_v1 https://osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/agupq_v2

必須スキル

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements: ・Ph.D. or equivalent experience in neuroscience, computer science, physics, mathematics, philosophy, or a related discipline (obtained or expected soon) ・Research experience in one or more of the following areas: - EEG/ECoG data analysis or brain decoding - Computational or theoretical neuroscience - Machine learning / AI model development (e.g., PyTorch, Jax, etc.) - Information theory, dynamical systems, or computational modelling - Philosophy of mind, consciousness research - Mathematics ・Ability to publish and communicate research in English

Determined based on experience and ability (approx. 6–9 million JPY annually as a guideline)

Full-time, fixed-term Initial contract (1 year, renewable annually up to 5 years. Renewals or promotions will be considered based on research performance and contributions)

- Holidays: Full two-day weekends (Sat/Sun), national holidays, annual paid leave, summer and winter holidays - Research environment: GPU servers available; travel and conference support for paper presentations - Starting date: April 2026. Negotiable for exceptional candidates.
