[About UIA International School of Tokyo] UIA International School of Tokyo (UIA) is one of the few Cambridge-certified international schools in Tokyo, welcoming students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. We are currently seeking a dedicated, highly motivated, and passionate Computing Study Teacher to join our team.
[Position Objective] The Computing teacher is tasked with delivering the Cambridge curriculum to students in both the primary and secondary divisions. The teacher is expected to plan & execute lessons through the Cambridge curriculum while also establishing a safe, productive, and learner-centred learning environment.
To successfully meet the requirements of the curriculum, the teacher must effectively balance theoretical classroom instruction with practical laboratory work and inquiry-based approaches.
[Key Responsibilities]
1. Teaching, Learning & Curriculum Delivery
- Create and execute effective lesson plans based on the Cambridge curriculum
- Create, develop, and implement a comprehensive curriculum guide or framework based on the Cambridge curriculums
- Practice effective classroom management
- Deliver effective formative and summative assessments
- Plan, design, and provide necessary support to students based on their individual needs
- Consistently monitor student behaviour, well-being, and progress
- Supervise students and practise effective duty of care
- Communicate and collaborate with team members
- Maintain consistent communication with students and parents and build positive relations between the all parties with the school
2. Assessment and Reporting
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments in line with school and Cambridge guidelines.
- Provide timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to support student growth.
- Prepare accurate report cards and actively participate in parent-teacher conferences.
3. Classroom Management & Safeguarding
- Establish clear expectations for behavior and learning.
- Implement the school’s behavior and safeguarding policies consistently. Support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students.
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents to build strong school–home partnerships.
4. Professional Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with teaching teams to plan units, improve practice, and ensure curriculum continuity.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and training workshops.
- Support co-curricular and extracurricular activities that enrich student development.

[Qualifications and Experience]
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education from an established and accredited university
- Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., M.Ed., or equivalent state/national teaching license).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of full-time teaching experience.
- Excellent command of the English language (both spoken and written).
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience teaching in an international school’s environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google, and other related software.
- Experience with student-centered, inquiry-based pedagogy.
