Requirement: OCONUS Japan - MDA Mid Security Analyst/Linguist
Job Description:
Forge is seeking a qualified full-time Security Analyst to provide program management support, linguistic expertise, and transfer material in support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases, identify risks and associated mitigation strategies, and assess opportunities for process improvement. This position is for a future opportunity and will be located in Japan. It will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Aegis System Equipped Vessel (ASEV) program. Additionally, this position will include Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities: Key responsibilities of the candidate will be (but aren't limited to):

Provide translation services, both oral and written, between the United States Government (USG) and Japanese counterparts
- Provide programmatic, technical, and security-related support for planning and identifying facilities for the storage of USG material
- Identify program risks and develop risk mitigation strategies; provide recommendations for resolution

Provide recommendations and input to the US-Japan FMS classified and unclassified material transfer processActs as shipping and receiving coordinator; checks for receipt, shipment, and delivery of government freight
- Provide courier services in-country using USG vehicle between facilities and designated work locations for MDA personnel (e.g., commercial facilities, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) bases and ships)
- Foster transparent communication with stakeholders involved in transportation, receipt, delivery, and transfer of material
- Control equipment inventory in accordance with the U.S. Department of War (DoW) and MDA directives
- Provide logistical support, including document preparation and necessary corrections, to preempt and quickly resolve issues in the classified and unclassified transfer process to and from the Continental United States
- Build and maintain spreadsheets and databases, and utilize these tools to create metrics-related data
- Prepare draft responses, briefings, white papers and memorandums as required
- Work with and coordinate JMSDF interactions with MDA program management and civilian / commercial personnel to ensure correct equipment and supporting personnel are available where required; this includes interactions with JMSDF commercial shipyards and Shore Installations
Qualifications/Requirements:
The Candidate must be able to think strategically, act tactically, and demonstrate strong analytical and critical-thinking skills. They must also build strong cross-group working relationships and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. The Candidate must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. We are looking for candidates with an active DoD SECRET security clearance, fluent in Japanese, and residing in Japan.
Minimum Qualifications:
- US Citizen
Active U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance
5+ years of professional experience supporting Security Cooperation, DoW programmatic, FMS, or international security storage and transfer programs.
Bachelor's degree (or in lieu of a degree, relevant experience of 9+ years of experience covering the requirements of this position)
Fluency in the Japanese language, including experience with translation
Highly Desired Qualifications:
- Regional or functional experience in the Asia-Pacific region.
