Position Overview
At ABB Robotics Japan, you will be responsible for providing maintenance services for installed paint robot systems (including robots and peripheral equipment). In addition, you will support retrofit and modification projects, including customer discussions, quotation preparation, project execution after order intake, and troubleshooting of delivered systems.
This role plays a critical part in supporting customers’ production uptime while delivering high-quality service and building long-term customer relationships.

Perform installation, commissioning, and startup of ABB paint robot systems and related peripheral equipment at customer sites

Conduct preventive maintenance and corrective repairs to maintain and improve system performance

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues
-
Provide both on-site and remote technical support
-
Support service sales activities including customer meetings and quotation preparation
-
Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
-
Build strong customer relationships through high-quality service delivery
-
Provide technical training and guidance on system operation and maintenance
-
Ensure high customer satisfaction through responsive and effective support
-
Accurately document service activities, work reports, and technical findings
-
Ensure compliance with ABB standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements
-
Identify opportunities for system upgrades, retrofits, and service contracts
-
Provide feedback to engineering teams to improve products and services
-
Support service sales by identifying customer needs and opportunities
-
High school diploma or higher (technical high school in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred)

Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
-
Experience working in Japan with customer interaction responsibilities
-
Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N1 level or equivalent
-
Basic English skills (ability to read manuals and communicate with overseas factories via email or simple conversations)

Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and travel with overnight stays as required
-
Valid driver’s license in Japan
