The team designs, implements and operates co-located trading infrastructure and exchange connectivity that must deliver reliable, deterministic performance at microsecond/nanosecond levels and process large volumes of real-time data. You will be a core team member and will work closely with C/Java application developers, network engineers and trading desk stakeholders to deliver market-leading DMA co-lo solutions.
Ultra-Low Latency High-Frequency DMA is a key component of Nomura’s Electronic Trading franchise. This development role is embedded within our Tokyo-based team delivering cutting edge DMA co-location solutions.
2) Responsibilities:
As a key member of our team the successful candidate will:
・Design, implement and maintain specialized FPGA-based systems using Verilog to meet ultra-low-latency, high-throughput trading requirements.
・Work with the engineering team to produce architectural solutions that integrate FPGA design with Linux C/Java host applications.
・Develop, review and optimize FPGA designs for predictable, deterministic network packet processing and market protocol implementations (e.g., Arrowhead, OUCH, FIX etc.).
・Create and maintain testbenches, simulation suites and in lab/in field validation procedures to ensure correctness, performance and robustness under realistic market traffic.
・Support deployment, configuration and ongoing operation of FPGA systems in co located environments; provide L2/L3 support for production issues.
・Produce clear design documentation, help evolve development standards and release processes and participate in code/design reviews.
・Collaborate with Data Center and Network teams on connectivity, cabling and monitoring considerations relevant to FPGA hardware.
・Contribute to continuous improvement activities: performance tuning, regression automation and monitoring.
