7. Initiatives to Promote the Hiring of Female Faculties
Iwate University is committed to promoting diversity. As part of this effort, we are implementing the
following measures in relation to this job announcement.
1) Female applicants will be given priority over male applicants under the conditions where evaluations of
their achievements and qualifications are deemed to be of equal value.
2) Up to 200,000 yen of retention fund (research expenses) will be provided. Female Lecturers and Assistant
Professors assigned to the university will receive 200,000 yen , the amount for 2 years starting from the date of
hire.

8. Efforts to Promote Employment of Young Faculty Members
Up to 2,000,000 yen] for start-up expenses (research expenses) will be provided.
Tenure-track faculty members (Lecturers and Assistant Professors) will receive a
research grant of 2,000,000 yen , the amount for 2 years starting from the date of hire.
9. Qualifications
1) Possess integrity and insight, with a desire to teach undergraduate and graduate students, provide
research guidance, and contribute to the local community.
2) Hold a Ph.D. and have extensive knowledge and research skills in livestock internal medicine, and have
outstanding research achievements.
3) Capable of conducting lectures and practical training for the above-mentioned subjects in accordance with
the Veterinary Education Model Core Curriculum
4) Hold a Japanese veterinary license and has extensive clinical experience in livestock internal medicine.
5) Actively participate in the operation of the Department, the School of Veterinary Medicine, the Graduate
School of Veterinary Sciences, and affiliated facilities.
