What we're looking for
Hello Clever is building the next generation of payments infrastructure where payments
become a growth engine, not a cost. We are entering Japan - one of the most strategic
fintech markets globally - and looking for a Founding Sales hire to help build our Japan
business from day one. This is not a traditional sales role.
You will help define:
• How we go to market
• Who we sell to
• How Japan scales globally
If you want to become a Country Lead at a global startup within a few years, this role is
designed for you.
Your Mission
• Build and scale Hello Clever’s Japan revenue engine.
• You won’t just close deals - you will build the playbook.
You might be a great fit if you:
• Want to become a Country Lead or GM in the next 3 years

• Prefer building over inheriting territory
• Are comfortable working directly with global executives
• Want exposure beyond “just sales”

• Top Account Executives at SaaS / Fintech companies
• Early employees at foreign startups in Japan
• JP/EN bilingual operators aiming for global careers
About You
• 2+ years in B2B SaaS or Fintech sales
• Native Japanese + Business English
• Experience owning deals end-to-end
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• High ownership mindset
Nice to Have
• Payments / Cross-border / API infrastructure experience
• Startup or GTM build experience
• Existing fintech or enterprise network in Japan
• Own end-to-end sales in Japan
• Design Japan GTM strategy with global leadership
• Build early pipeline and define ICP
• Work directly with Product, Compliance, and Leadership teams
• Become the market voice of Japan internally
