Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced freelance franchise development consultant based in Japan to support Dessert39's strategic market entry. This role focuses specifically on identifying and introducing qualified Master Franchise partners who can lead and develop the Dessert39 brand across Japan.
This is not a cold-calling or mass outreach role. We are looking for well-connected professionals who already operate within Japan's F&B, café, retail, or franchise ecosystem and can leverage existing relationships to facilitate high-level strategic introductions. You will act as a trusted bridge between serious Japanese business partners and Dessert39's Korea-based headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner Identification: Identify and evaluate qualified Master Franchise candidates, including established restaurant groups, multi-unit café operators, F&B holding companies, trading houses (sogo shosha), and franchise-experienced investors
- Strategic Introductions: Present Dessert39's brand, business model, and franchise opportunity to your network in a credible and professional manner, generating genuine interest among high-caliber prospects
- Meeting Coordination: Organize and support meetings between prospective partners and Dessert39 HQ in Korea, including online sessions and follow-up discussions
- Market Intelligence: Provide valuable insights on Japan's franchise landscape, regulatory environment, café and dessert market trends, real estate dynamics, and consumer behavior patterns
- Deal Support: Support early-stage discussions through evaluation, due diligence, and negotiation phases, ensuring smooth communication between both parties

Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience in franchise development, F&B, café chains, retail expansion, or related business development roles within Japan
- Strong and active professional network with multi-unit operators, franchise groups, F&B investors, trading houses, or retail holding companies in Japan
- Solid understanding of franchise structures, including Master Franchise and Area Developer models
- Experience in B2B sales, strategic partnerships, or market entry consulting
- Comfortable working on a commission-based, success-fee-only compensation model
- Excellent communication skills in English (business-level Japanese is highly preferred)
- Based in Japan or with strong, active professional networks in Japan
Preferred:
- Prior experience bringing international franchise brands into the Japanese market
- Existing relationships with Japanese companies interested in Korean F&B or lifestyle brands
- Familiarity with Japanese franchise law and regulatory requirements
- Experience working with Korean brands or companies on Japan market entry

給与:
Compensation
This role operates on a 100% commission-based, success-fee-only structure. There is no base salary, hourly rate, or retainer fee.
Upon successful signing of a Master Franchise Agreement between Dessert39 and a partner you have introduced, you will receive a substantial success fee commensurate with the scale and value of the agreement. Given the significance of a Japan Master Franchise deal, the earning potential is considerable.
