Process Engineer (Equipment & Process Development)
Our Team
As a Process Engineer in the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) organization, you will be involved in multiple projects from the product development stage through mass production. You will work closely with Mold Design Engineers, Automation/Assembly Machine Engineers, Product Design Engineers, and Quality Engineers.
There are opportunities for technical collaboration with engineers at overseas sites, including Korea and Shanghai. Overseas business trips are expected, and there may be opportunities for overseas assignment in the future.
The department consists of a balanced mix of junior, mid-career, and senior engineers. Responsibilities are assigned based on individual skills and strengths, providing an environment where employees can grow professionally while finding their work rewarding. Open communication is encouraged regardless of experience level.
We are looking for individuals who can plan and execute their work independently, identify challenges, develop solutions, and persistently work toward achieving goals.
What You Will Do
1. Equipment and process development for MT-Ferrule and connector manufacturing products.
2. Contribute to yield improvement and process capability (Cp/Cpk) optimization through cross-functional process design in collaboration with Product Design Engineers, Automation/Assembly Machine Engineers, and Tooling Design Engineers.
3. Design manufacturing processes and develop Process FMEA.
4. Review technical issues, process risks, quality-critical characteristics, and design capability for assembly, stamping, molding, and plating processes.
5. Validate quality and productivity through prototype builds using new automated assembly machines and molds, and lead equipment debugging activities.
6. Develop control plans, work instructions, and manufacturing condition specifications in collaboration with relevant departments.
7. Improve quality and productivity during pilot builds and mass production to ensure that design capability requirements are met.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in MT-Ferrule process design.
- Experience in defining specifications, start-up, and improvement of production equipment.
- Experience with FMEA.
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to quality issues.
- Experience in manufacturing-related roles (e.g., Process Engineer, Production Engineer, Automation Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, Quality Engineer) with hands-on involvement in the design of jigs, tools, production lines, and automation equipment.
- Japanese Skills: Native or business-level proficiency
- English Skills: Intermediate business-level proficiency
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience using 3D CAD.
- Basic knowledge of connector manufacturing processes.
