Your Job
Mold Design and Development Engineer / 金型設計•開発エンジニア
Our Team
You will play an active role as a precision injection mold design engineer in the mold development organization. While design work using NX CAD is central, you will be involved end-to-end-from early product development stages through mass production-within each project.
You will work as a Mold Engineer at either the Kagoshima Plant or the Yokohama (Minato Mirai) office. In addition to collaborating with engineers at the Shizuoka Plant, you will have opportunities for technical exchange with engineers at overseas sites, including Korea and Shanghai. International travel is expected, and there is potential for an overseas assignment in the future.

Communication with colleagues and managers is strong, enabling transparent and smooth operations.
We are looking for someone who can plan proactively and work with a strong sense of ownership, identify challenges and think through solutions, and persistently strive toward goals.
What You Will Do
1. Mold design and development for BtoB/FPC/WtoB connectors using 3D CAD (NX) i n particular, including MT-F errules, multi-pin designs, and microstructures.
2. Design and development of molds for advanced connectors, including related assembly and ramp-up/start-up activities.
3. Meetings and coordination with Product Design, Manufacturing, and Quality Evaluation teams during new product development.
4. Process development to reduce mold cost and shorten lead time.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 5+ years of experience in injection mold design and startup, with end-to-end involvement from design through trial runs to mass production launch.
- Experience in mold design for precision parts (products and molds with critical dimensions at the 5-micron level), including dimensional and tolerance design that accounts for the thermal effects of materials.
- Experience designing molds incorporating numerous pins and microstructures (e.g., fine-diameter pins, deep holes, complex slide mechanisms).
- Practical experience with precision molds for connectors, optical components, and electronic parts, particularly ferrules, connectors, and optical components.
- Experience in molding and mold design for crystalline and high-rigidity resins such as PPS and LCP, particularly in runner and gate design based on resin properties and addressing warpage, shrinkage differences, and dimensional variations.
- Experience in the design (layout planning, temperature control design) and startup of hot runner molds.
- Japanese: Native level; advanced business level
- English: Basic business level
What Will Put You Ahead
- Practical experience in resin flow analysis.
- Basic knowledge of connector manufacturing.
- Candidates with a degree in mechanical engineering and experience in development or mechanical design within the electronics industry.
- Experience using 3D CAD (NX).
- Experience in establishing mass production conditions based on DOE and debugging.
