Major Challenges (Expectation Setting)
This role is a strong fit for professionals who enjoy steady execution plus thoughtful improvement in a controlled environment:
-
Hands-on reality (important): this is not an oversight-only AVP role. You are expected to personally execute BAU processing and exception handling as part of day-to-day delivery.
-
Role shape: not a people-manager role by default. Success comes from hands-on delivery, strong stakeholder partnership, and contributing to team stability.
-
Procedure-led operations: there are detailed manuals/procedures and strict controls. The onboarding period involves significant procedure learning and careful shadowing/handovers.
-
Improvement within constraints: efficiency and automation are encouraged, but delivery may be limited by resource capacity, budget, technology roadmaps, dependencies, and regulatory/control requirements. A practical, solutions-oriented approach is valued.
-
Working with an experienced team: the team includes long-tenured colleagues with deep know-how. Building trust, communicating respectfully, and partnering to deliver change safely are key to doing well.
-
Flexibility: coverage may change based on volumes and operational needs.
-
Career mindset: this role suits professionals who build credibility through hands-on delivery first and are motivated to grow into broader leadership responsibilities (e.g., mentoring, process ownership, change delivery) over time.
