About the Team
The Debt Capital Markets (DCM) team sits within the Capital Solutions Group (CSG) and advises clients on a wide range of financing solutions across the debt capital markets. The team originates, structures, and executes debt financing transactions for leading corporate, financial and public intuition clients in Japan and globally.
DCM professionals work closely with partners across the firm, including Syndicate, Equity Capital Markets, IB Derivatives, and broader Investment Banking coverage teams. This collaborative platform provides exposure to a broad range of financing products and strategic client situations.
Key Responsibilities
Analysts/Associates play a critical role in supporting the execution and origination of debt financing transactions while helping strengthen long-term client relationships.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the structuring and execution of a broad range of debt financing transactions
- Analyzing corporate financial statements, capital structures, and credit profiles
- Developing financial analyses and models to evaluate financing alternatives
- Preparing client presentations, market updates, and transaction materials
- Assisting in the management of transaction processes and coordination across internal and external stakeholders
- Monitoring capital markets, financing trends, and investor sentiment
- Working closely with senior bankers and product specialists across the firm to deliver financing solutions to clients
Successful candidates will gain exposure to a wide variety of industries, clients, and financing products while developing analytical, communication, and execution skills within one of the leading global investment banking platforms.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree with 1-6 years of relevant experience in Debt Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or related financial markets roles
- Strong understanding of corporate balance sheets, capital structure, credit analysis, and fixed income products
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities
- Native-level Japanese language skills and strong English communication skills
- Outstanding academic and professional achievement
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and regions
