Role Purpose & Value
To strengthen our engineering team, we are looking for a Resident Engineer to be based on site at a large vehicle OEM in Nagoya, Japan. Your responsibility will be to ensure compliance to the software requirements and scope for each customer release before flashing / delivering the software to the customer. You will be involved in setting up and then maintaining the SW Development environment, ensuring all verification use cases for the customer are transferred to our GKN test/development teams for early problem detection. Your ability to speak both Japanese and English at business level will be important as this you will need to communicate between our customer and the GKN account management team..
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and if needed, debug the overall base software, e.g E- Electrical Diagnostics
Support the development team by architectural and detailed designs including Technical Safety Concept for Software and CyberSecurity related content
(Specifications, etc.)
- Support SW-PL on detailed planning and customer coordination
- Interface with the customer on vehicle design FMEAs and diagnostics interfaces
- Reporting /Meeting/explanation/Presentation within OEM
- Support and debug software issues in the lab and at customer through commissioning, testing, diagnosing, and inspection through development life cycle
- Support release electrical software design outputs from ECAD tools according to GKN processes, and facilitate customer releases
Experience that will set you up for success in this role:
・Engineering degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
・Customer management experience
・Embedded Software Design, Development, calibration, and Management tools
・Relevant Engineering experience in Automotive Software / Electronics
・Automotive SW Know How (e.g. Communication Protocols, Diagnostics, AUTOSAR, MISRA, ...)
・Basic Electrics, Electronics and Microcontroller Know How Good
・Understanding of Automotive SPICE, ISO26262 & Cyber Security ISO/SAE21434 requirements (UN R 155/156)
・Knowhow of Model based development and code generation
・Knowhow of Model based development and code generation (UML, Matlab/Simulink, Target Link, C++ language)
・Vehicle Integration and Controls Know How of GKN's Driveline Systems (e.g. for problem solving)
・E-Motor Controls and Inverter Know how
・Software Requirements Specification
