Shape how data is trusted and protected at BMW Japan Finance Corp. (SF)
In this role, you will lead data governance and information security, partnering with business and technology leaders to enable analytics and AI—securely, compliantly, and at scale.

Key Responsibilities
Data Governance (60%)
•Set the data governance vision and operating model for SF, aligned with BMW Group standards and Japanese regulatory requirements.
•Improve data reliability and reuse by driving cataloguing, data quality, master data, metadata, and lineage initiatives.
•Build a pragmatic governance community—stewards, forums, and decision rights—so teams can move faster with clear accountability.
•Define measurable KPIs, coach stakeholders, and partner with analytics/AI teams to ensure data is ready for advanced use cases.
Information Security (40%)
•Ensure compliance with BMW Group security policies and Japanese requirements, translating standards into actionable controls and guidance.
•Lead audit readiness, incident response, vulnerability management, and risk treatment plans with clear prioritization and follow-through.
•Strengthen third-party security by partnering with procurement and vendors on security expectations, assessments, and remediation.
•Raise security awareness through targeted training and communications for business and technical audiences.
•5+ years of experience in information security and/or data governance (regulated industries preferred; financial services is a plus).
•Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
•Preferred certifications: CDMP and/or CISM (or equivalent such as CISSP, CRISC, ISO 27001).
•Proven experience designing and operating data governance (catalog, quality, stewardship, lineage).
•Experience with governance and security tooling and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or equivalent; cloud/data platforms).
•Project management experience leading multi-cultural, cross-functional initiatives.
•Fluent Japanese and English.
