Overview :
This role involves establishing a new inspection plant that performs cylinder retesting in compliance with the High Pressure Gas Safety Act, utilizing Japan’s first ultrasonic flaw detection method and specially designed semi-automatic equipment.
The position is responsible for developing processes and manuals required for the plant launch and providing training to operators. After the plant becomes operational, this role will also oversee execution management of inspections and exercise authority for approval of inspection results.
As this inspection method uses advanced technology not currently defined under domestic regulations, an application for special approval is currently being submitted to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Retest Inspection Plant Manager, the role involves the following duties in establishing and operating a retest inspection plant for high-pressure gas cylinders (aluminum alloy, less than 1L capacity, exclusively for liquefied CO₂, maximum filling pressure 25MPa), using inspection methods and equipment (manufactured overseas) introduced in Japan for the first time:
During Plant Construction:

Review and plan the plant layout

Provide guidance for installation of inspection equipment

Develop operational manuals

Train employees
-
Conduct trial runs and adjustments of inspection-related equipment
After Plant Completion (as Retest Leader):

Perform and supervise cylinder inspections using new equipment

Approve inspection results

Perform and approve regular calibration of inspection equipment

Make final pass/fail judgments for cylinder retesting and prepare/approve records

Handle safety, quality, and environmental operations related to the inspection plant

Perform other duties related to cylinder retesting

Ultrasonic Testing Certification (Level 2 or higher) from The Japanese Society for Non-Destructive Inspection
