About Tellmate
"Tellmate" is an online English learning service launched in 2023. We are still in the early phases of the launch and are seeking enthusiastic teachers to help our service grow. Our service is unique in that all our students have a high level of English proficiency, with many having lived abroad. We are looking for teachers who can assist students with their online English education. We seek passionate and compassionate teachers who are able to communicate well remotely.
About the Reading Sessions
Students read popular children's and young adult literature and participate in small-group discussions. Recent books include:
- Harry Potter
- Percy Jackson
- Matilda
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Teachers guide discussions, encourage participation, and help students express their thoughts and opinions in English.
Responsibilities
- Lead online Reading Sessions via Zoom
- Facilitate discussions in small groups of students
- Encourage critical thinking and active participation
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment
No Lesson Planning Required
All lesson materials, reading schedules, and discussion questions are provided. Little to no preparation is required outside of reading the assigned chapters.
Qualifications
Required:
- Native-level English proficiency
- Comfortable working with children
- Reliable internet connection and computer
Preferred:
- Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or leading group activities
- Interest in reading and children's literature
Compensation
¥1,500 per hour

Fully remote
勤務時間・曜日:
Fixed Schedule
- Every Tuesday 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM JST
- Every Thursday 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM JST
We are looking for someone who can commit to this schedule consistently for at least one year.

Working days can be negotiated.
勤務地:
Fully remote. Must have an environment to use Zoom with a PC.
