Our client, a leading financial services firm in Japan, is looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join their team. This role requires a strong technical background, at least 5 years of experience working with Japanese applications in financial services, and business-level Japanese proficiency (N3 or above).
This is a hybrid position offering flexibility, a competitive salary, and great benefits. Candidates must be based in Japan to apply.
About the Role
Our client, a well-established company in the financial sector, is looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer to contribute to the development of next-generation financial applications. This role requires a minimum of five years working on software development for financial systems in Japan, along with business-level Japanese proficiency (N3 or higher).
This is a hybrid position, allowing a balance between remote work and in-office collaboration. Candidates must already be residing in Japan to be considered.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance enterprise financial applications, ensuring efficiency and security
- Develop and optimize APIs and backend services for seamless integration
- Work closely with system architects and engineers to improve platform scalability
- Maintain code quality through structured testing and best practices
- Troubleshoot issues, implement fixes, and optimize performance
- Collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams to drive product improvements
- Stay up to date with industry standards in software development and cloud infrastructure

Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of development experience in Japan within the financial services sector
- Japanese proficiency: N3 or higher (must be comfortable working in a Japanese-speaking environment)
- Proficiency in Full Stack Development, including:
- Backend Technologies: Java, Spring Boot, Python
- Frontend Frameworks: React, Angular, or similar
- Database Systems: SQL/NoSQL
- Cloud & Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
- API Development: REST, SOAP, API Gateway
- Messaging Systems: RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with large-scale enterprise applications
- Familiarity with API management platforms (Apigee, APIM, etc.)
- Knowledge of security best practices in financial software
