Your Job
As a Development Product Manager, you will own the end-to-end execution of new product development (NPD) programs, ensuring products are delivered on time, at target cost, and with required quality. You will act as the execution owner, bridging engineering, project management, and commercial teams to enable successful product launches and scalable business growth aligned with portfolio strategy and business objectives.
The Team
You will be part of the PSBU Signal Product Management team, based in Yokohama. You will work closely with cross-functional partners including Product Development, Engineering, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Sales & BDM, Supply Chain, Marketing / MarCom, and Finance. Externally, you will collaborate with key customers, distributors, and technology or ecosystem partners across Japan and globally.
What You Will Do
- Research future market demand and VOC correction from global sales and BDM team to define product scope for new development with competitive advantages.
- Lead end-to-end execution of product development programs (NPI), from concept through mass production
- Ensure on-time delivery while meeting quality, cost, and performance targets
- Drive feasibility reviews, risk assessments, and mitigation plans across development phases
- Monitor and manage progress across design, validation (DV / PV), and production readiness
- Lead and align cross-functional teams on priorities, milestones, and trade-offs
- Serve as the central communication point across Japan-based and global teams, ensuring alignment with overseas stakeholders
- Translate customer requirements into internal specifications and development plans
- Oversee BOM, specifications, DFMEA, and validation activities
- Support customer discussions from a technical and development perspective
- Ensure smooth handover from development to mass production
- Drive continuous improvement in PDP execution speed, quality, and predictability
- Identify gaps in processes, tools, and capabilities and contribute to global best-practice standardization
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in product development, engineering, or program / project management within a manufacturing or technology environment
- Solid understanding of new product introduction (NPI) and product development processes (PDP)
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence rather than direct authority
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and risk-management skills
- Japanese: Native or fluent level (reading, writing, and speaking) for daily internal communication and customer interaction in Japan
- English: Business-level proficiency for meetings, documentation, and collaboration with global and regional stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively with international stakeholders across different cultures and time zones
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience with connector or interconnect products
- Customer-facing experience in a technical or development role
- Knowledge of DFMEA, validation processes, and manufacturing environments
- Experience working with global or regional teams outside Japan
- Experience supporting customer or internal discussions in English
