About the Role
Agents Only Technologies is seeking detail-oriented Japanese-speaking Audio Annotators to support audio annotation, content evaluation, and quality review projects. This role is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and categorizing speech, music, sound effects, and environmental audio while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project guidelines.
You will work with structured annotation frameworks and contribute to projects that support audio technologies, language-related initiatives, and machine learning applications. The ideal candidate has strong listening skills, attention to detail, and experience working with audio content in a professional or academic setting.
This opportunity is well suited for individuals with backgrounds in music, audio production, sound design, audio engineering, media production, or related disciplines who are interested in flexible, project-based work.
Responsibilities
Audio Review and Annotation
- Review and analyze speech, music, sound effects, and environmental audio recordings.
- Create accurate annotations and classifications according to project guidelines.
- Transcribe and evaluate audio content when required.
- Identify and document audio quality issues, including background noise, distortion, clipping, hum, and other anomalies.
- Categorize sounds, music elements, audio events, and acoustic characteristics accurately.
- Apply annotation standards consistently across assigned tasks.
- Escalate unclear or complex cases when appropriate.
Quality and Process Compliance
- Perform quality reviews and validation activities prior to submission.
- Maintain consistency, accuracy, and adherence to project requirements.
- Follow established workflows and detailed annotation guidelines.
- Identify recurring quality issues and communicate findings appropriately.
- Collaborate with project teams to support quality improvement initiatives.
- Handle project-related information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Qualifications
Required
- Native or fluent proficiency in Japanese.
- Basic to intermediate English reading comprehension.
- Strong listening, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to follow structured guidelines and maintain consistent quality standards.
- Reliable internet connection and access to a computer.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

- Educational or professional background in:

- Familiarity with audio software, digital audio workstations (DAWs), or audio analysis tools.
- Experience evaluating audio quality and identifying technical audio issues.
- Previous experience in annotation, transcription, content review, quality assurance, or related work.
- Experience working in freelance, contract, or project-based environments.
