Seeking Kitchen Assistant for overnight room service and breakfast preparation.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepares menu items as directed by the head chef, senior chef, or other staff.
Prepares fresh produce by peeling, cutting, and portioning.
Prepares meat by trimming, cutting, and portioning.
Ability to prepare all menu items as well as special requests
Mixes or prepares all ingredients necessary to execute service
Maintains ingredient and food quality
Working as a line cook with the mastery of every station
Maintains compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and hygiene codes and standards.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Comprehensive understanding of sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.
Comprehensive understanding of or the ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
Knowledge of Fish & Meat handling - cleaning / portioning
Knowledge of basic sauce, stocks making (ie: Hollandaise, broths…)
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
Ability to maintain food quality and consistency on all prepped items.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Ability to maintain personal hygiene.
