The Global Banking & Markets Public Division enables our clients to buy and sell financial products, raise funding and manage risk. We make markets and facilitate client transactions in fixed income, equity, currency and commodity products. In addition, we make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with our clients, receiving orders and distributing investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Franchise management team is seeking an Executive Director to support FICC/EQ business in Asia based in Tokyo. We partner with FICC/EQ Leadership to identify and assess strategic opportunities, and drive initiatives across the division and our client franchise. The ideal candidate should have an interest in pursuing a career focused in strategy and financial analysis, be interested in solving complex business problems and playing a pivotal role in shaping Goldman Sachs forward strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the business affairs of Japan FICC/Equities Franchise, play a primary role in analysing business performance and work closely with Japan leadership to develop deep understanding of our franchise and strategy for our business
- Assist with historical analyses, forecasts, annual business planning processes, and project work
- Coordinate and devise business continuity strategies and oversee implementation for Japan FICC/Equites franchise
- Understanding key regulatory changes in the market place and working with leadership to determine the GS response
- Partner with legal/compliance/audit/tax for resolution of regulatory, audit issues and implementation of global policies, procedures and controls
- Proactively identify operational inefficiencies and work with cross-functional teams across the firm to solve for these issues
- Coordinate with global franchise management teams on global priorities and assist in the launch and execution of new initiatives in the region
- Staying connected and working towards consistency with the global teams in each region
- Management of administration process such as expense management, floor moves, vendor management budget approvals
- Have proven track record of deliver high quality, accurate product with a meticulous attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, and ability to effectively interact with senior management and lead complex projects involving global stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills and aptitude with numbers, ability to manipulate data
- Strong understanding of financial markets business and products
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to adapt in a dynamic & competitive organization
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Japanese language preferable not a prerequisite
