About Aipex Worldwide
Aipex Worldwide is an international logistics and freight forwarding company specializing in Air Freight, Sea Freight, Express Logistics, Warehousing, Customs Clearance, and Dangerous Goods (DG) Shipping. With operations across multiple countries, we are expanding into Japan and are seeking a highly entrepreneurial leader to establish and grow our Japanese business.
This is not a traditional sales role. We are looking for a business builder who can launch, lead, and scale our Japan operations from the ground up.
Role Overview
The Sales & Marketing Director will be responsible for establishing Aipex Worldwide's presence in Japan, driving business growth, developing strategic partnerships, building a high-performing sales team, and achieving profitability within the first 2–3 months of operations.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in international freight forwarding, strong industry relationships, and a proven track record of delivering profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Establishment
- Lead the registration and establishment of Aipex Worldwide in Japan.
- Coordinate with legal, accounting, banking, and government authorities to complete company setup.
- Develop operational processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Establish local office infrastructure and business operations.
Business Development
- Develop new customers for both Air Freight and Ocean Freight services.
- Generate consistent business from importers, exporters, manufacturers, trading companies, freight forwarders, and corporate clients.
- Build long-term strategic relationships with key customers.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial agreements, and close profitable business.
Vendor & Network Development
- Develop and manage relationships with airlines, shipping lines, consolidators, transport providers, customs brokers, warehouses, and logistics partners.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates and service agreements.
- Build a reliable supplier network to support profitable operations.
Sales & Marketing Leadership
- Develop and execute the sales and marketing strategy for Japan.
- Identify new market opportunities and industry segments.
- Represent Aipex Worldwide at trade events, exhibitions, and networking functions.
- Promote the company's logistics solutions across multiple industries.
Team Building
- Recruit, train, and manage the Japan sales team.
- Set monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Establish KPIs and performance management systems.
- Mentor the team to achieve sustainable business growth.
Financial Responsibility
- Manage budgets and operational expenses.
- Drive revenue growth while maintaining healthy profit margins.
- Ensure the Japan operation becomes financially sustainable and profitable.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The successful candidate will be expected to achieve measurable results, including:
- Successfully establish Aipex Worldwide's legal entity in Japan.
- Build a reliable vendor and partner network.
- Acquire new customers across Air Freight and Sea Freight.
- Recruit and develop a local sales team.
- Meet agreed monthly revenue and gross profit targets.
- Achieve operational profitability within 2–3 months of joining.
Requirements
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in international freight forwarding or logistics.
- Strong experience in Air Freight and Ocean Freight sales.
- Existing network with Japanese importers, exporters, logistics providers, airlines, and shipping lines.
- Proven experience establishing or expanding logistics operations.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build a business from scratch.
- Fluent in Japanese and English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multinational freight forwarding companies.
- Knowledge of customs regulations and international trade.
- Experience managing P&L and achieving profitability.
- Existing customer portfolio is highly desirable.
