Key Responsibilities
1.CIO Support and Governance
•Provide overall support to the CIO in daily investment-related activities
•Attend key governance meetings (risk, investment committee, etc.) and identify key issues and risks
•Clearly report key insights and recommendations to the CIO
•Design and facilitate meetings to improve decision-making quality and speed
•Ensure effective communication between the CIO and internal teams
2.Investment Oversight and Performance Management
•Oversee fund and investment performance evaluation processes across teams
•Manage benchmarks, targets, and peer group analysis
•Ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability in performance assessment
•Develop and enhance performance data and reporting infrastructure
•Manage seed investment funds, including application, monitoring, and periodic reviews
•Act as secretariat for investment committee and capacity management meetings
3.Reporting and Cross-Functional Coordination
•Prepare and enhance investment reports for the Board and senior management
•Reflect the CIO’s views and priorities accurately in all materials
•Ensure clarity, data integrity, and executive-level presentation quality
•Coordinate across investment, risk, product, and other related functions
•Support collaboration with global investment teams and stakeholders
4.Operational Oversight
•Act on behalf of the CIO for selected approval responsibilities
•Approve working time and attendance records of investment department heads, as delegated by the CIO
•Approve expense requests for the investment function on behalf of the CIO
•Review and approve overseas business travel requests in line with internal policies
•Coordinate responses to parent company and regulatory requests (e.g., FSA surveys) related to the investment function
•Oversee compliance and administrative processes within the investment organization
Requirements
Experience
- Around 10+ years of experience in the investment industry
- Experience supporting senior investment leadership
- Experience working across functions in a matrix organization
- Experience preparing materials for Board and senior executives
Skills
- Strong communication and facilitation skills to support effective decision-making
- Solid understanding of investment strategy, performance, and risk
- Good understanding of fund performance practices in Japan and Global, including market conventions and standards
- Ability to prepare clear and effective executive-level materials
- Strong process and governance mindset with attention to detail
- English communication skills (written and spoken)
