Ericsson is establishing a new state-of-the-art R&D center in Yokohama focused on Radio and Software development. The center will support leading Japanese communication service providers and deliver next-generation radio products and solutions for global deployment.
We are hiring a Radio HW Digital Designer to join the team. In this role, you will contribute to the full product lifecycle of Ericsson’s future radio systems, from early-stage studies and design through product development, deployment, and field support.
You will be directly involved in the development of next-generation radio network products, contributing to system design and end-to-end performance validation.
What you will do

Contribute to the design and development of future radio products, from prototypes to product development and field support

Participate in early design studies and system-level architecture analysis
-
Perform system modeling and high-speed link budget analysis
-
Evaluate and qualify new components
-
Develop and execute test scripts for IC verification
-
Integrate, configure, and tune radio hardware during the design phase
-
Perform system-level performance verification and validation
-
Support end-to-end system performance analysis throughout product development
The skills you bring
Education
-
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred

Bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant experience may also be considered
Core technical skills
-
5+ years of experience in digital circuit design
-
High-speed interfaces (e.g., SerDes)
-
Timing analysis
-
Signal integrity (SI) design
-
Experience in board bring-up, debugging, and system-level root cause analysis
-
Hands-on experience with schematic design and PCB layout review tools
-
Cadence, Altium, or Allegro
-
Strong understanding of high-speed design guidelines and SI/PI considerations
-
Solid understanding of system architecture
-
CPU-based systems
-
FPGA applications
-
Power distribution systems
-
Clock design
-
Knowledge of EMC, thermal design, and product compliance, including validation and certification support

Experience with SI/PI simulation tools (nice to have)

HyperLynx, Ansys, SiSoft, ADS, etc.

Hands-on experience with lab equipment

Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal source analyzers
