- Open opportunity: Project Delivery Coordinator
The Project Delivery Coordinator will support the end-to-end management of solar and battery storage projects in Japan, working across late-stage development, construction and commissioning phases, until handover to Operations & Maintenance. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to grow within a dynamic renewable energy environment, contributing to project success alongside experienced project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
What will you do?
- Support the day-to-day coordination of project activities across development, construction and commissioning phases, assisting in the handover to Operations & Maintenance.
- Assist with project scheduling, budget tracking and cost reporting, flagging risks and deviations to the Project Manager.
- Coordinate communication between internal teams (Engineering, Legal, Finance, Asset Management) and external stakeholders (contractors, EPCs, grid operators, local authorities).
- Support the preparation and review of project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, permits, and contract correspondence.
- Help monitor compliance with applicable permits, contracts, and quality, safety and environmental standards.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors on a day-to-day basis, tracking deliverables and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Assist in organising and attending site visits, supporting the Site Manager and Project Engineer as required.
- Contribute to lessons learned documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the project handover from construction to operations, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
What do we need?
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or related), Project Management, or a relevant discipline.
- 5 years’ experience in project coordination or management, ideally within renewable energy, energy infrastructure, or construction sectors.
- Basic understanding of solar PV and/or battery energy storage systems is desirable.
- Experience working with contractors, EPCs or consultants in a coordination capacity.
- Business-level Japanese (native or JLPT N2 or above) and working-level English.
- Willingness to travel domestically and visit construction sites as required. Valid driving licence.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Collaborative, proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership and work effectively within cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- PMP certification or progress towards it is considered advantageous.
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera) and document management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
