1. Position
Professor (Full-time) of Division of Basic Science and Translational Research, Research Center
for Child Mental Development, Kanazawa University
2. Qualifications
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree, have a distinguished record of achievement in basic
research on the healthy development of the mind and brain, and demonstrate the ability to pursue
outstanding research in this field. We particularly welcome candidates who can advance basic
and translational research on the development of the mind and brain from perspectives such as
social behavior, parental behavior, sleep and biological rhythms, and neurodevelopmental
disorders, with a primary focus on animal models while also encompassing studies involving
human participants or human-derived biological samples.

4. Research environment and support
After taking up the position, the successful candidate will be able to recruit and select one
specially appointed associate professor or specially appointed assistant professor through an
appropriate selection process.
5. Term of appointment
Fixed-term (5 years). 【If you are currently working at our university and work continuously, the
total term of office, from the current term to the next term, cannot exceed 10 years.】
After appointment, a review will be conducted during the term of employment to determine
eligibility for reappointment, including possible conversion to a position without a fixed term.
Re-appointment evaluation will be based on:
(1) Research publications
(2) Records of teaching and training
(3) Grants, fellowships, and awards
(4) Activities in academic associations
(5) Additional activities such as status of research achievements, industry-academia
collaboration, and social contribution
(6) Other items that the review committee deems particularly necessary
