VTT-A Mission
VTT-A is responsible for comprehensive whole-vehicle system and function validation, as well as vehicle approval and release activities across Southeast Asia (e.g., Japan, Korea, and Taiwan) on behalf of the Whole Vehicle Development and Quality Assurance divisions. Through early and comprehensive local validation prior to SOP, VTT-A ensures regulatory compliance, market readiness, and the delivery of high-quality vehicle systems.
Position Purpose
This position is responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, and technical readiness of prototype and pre-series Volkswagen Group vehicles by continuously testing, evaluating, analyzing, and validating vehicle systems and test results. The role supports the identification of technical issues, assessment of vehicle maturity, and implementation of timely corrective actions to achieve project and quality targets.
Role Description
The Vehicle Validation and Analysis Engineer serves as the primary interface between local test operations and headquarters, driving cross-functional collaboration to align validation activities, coordinate issue resolution, support decision-making, and ensure the successful execution of vehicle development and quality assurance objectives.
【Main Responsibility】
1) Perform testing, evaluation, and validation of new vehicle functions following vehicle introduction, hardware upgrades, or software updates
2) Conduct comprehensive testing, evaluation, and analysis of whole vehicle functions, systems, and their interactions.
3) Diagnose technical issues, determine root causes, and drive the implementation of effective corrective actions.
4) Coordinate validation and testing activities for Volkswagen Group brands, ensuring timely execution and alignment with project objectives.
5) Manage and coordinate special testing programs (SOPRO - Sonderprogramm) requested by Group Brand Headquarters.
6) Leverage market-specific customer insights and local test environment knowledge to assess identified issues and determine appropriate escalation paths.
7) Ensure the qualification, training, and ongoing competency of test drivers in accordance with testing requirements and applicable standards.
8) Monitor and assess issues identified during daily testing activities, ensuring proper prioritization, reporting, and resolution.
9) Provide technical recommendations and support decision-making based on test results, vehicle evaluations, and data-driven analysis.
10) Ensure consistent whole-vehicle testing standards across all VTT test stations for Volkswagen Group brands.
11) Support on following:
-Collaborate with headquarters representatives to review test findings, define countermeasures, and support their effective implementation.
-Contribution to workshop business objectives through cost-conscious use of resources, equipment utilization optimization, infrastructure improvement initiatives, and support of investment planning.
-The efficient operation, readiness, and continuous improvement of workshop facilities, testing equipment, tools, and infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted testing activities
【Main KPIs】
1) Demonstrate and maintain comprehensive technical knowledge of all vehicle functions within the assigned commodity across Volkswagen Group brands, including function behavior, system dependencies, failure modes, validation requirements, and customer impact
2) Quality of ticket documentation, including clear issue description, test evidence, root cause indication, and proposed next steps
3) Number of market-relevant issues identified and resolved prior to customer exposure in South East Asia
4) Average lead time from ticket assignment to validation result
5) Accuracy and reliability of test result analysis and validation conclusions
6) Effectiveness of cross-functional collaboration with headquarters in resolving technical topics
7) Stakeholder feedback from headquarters, Group brands, or internal project partners
8) Consistency of test execution quality across local test activities for all VTT stations
9) Reduction of repeated issues through improved validation, reporting, or escalation processes
1) Education: BA/MA or equivalent (technical)
2) Language proficiency:
-Japanese: intermediate
-English: business
