The Visual Merchandising Associate Manager supports the Senior Manager in developing and implementing visual merchandising strategies to enhance brand image and drive sales. This pivotal role ensures high quality visual displays across all points of sale (DOS, WHS, TR), maintains consistency with global guidelines, and contributes to store sales success in line with Japan market needs. Key responsibilities include executing visual merchandising initiatives, managing display materials, and coordinating new store openings, pop-ups, fairs, events and exhibitions. Strong cross-functional coordination skills are required for all VM-related projects.
1. Visual Implementation & Quality Control:
- Implement local VM strategies to ensure high quality in-store and window displays, boosting sales and profitability.
- Monitor visual execution and store conditions through regular store visits, training, and photo analysis, providing VM reports, and collaborating with field VM colleagues.
- Ensure visual guidelines are followed and best practices are shared with store teams and HQ.
- Organize monthly VM ambassador workshops and manage store VM assessments.
- Communicate frequently with the central VM team to ensure effective local display and report on market-specific needs.
- Localize and execute VM guidelines according to local needs.
- Oversee and manage floral decorations and greenery installations in stores.
2. Display Material Management & Coordination:
- Oversee local display props stock, order processing, and warehouse management.
- Suggest necessary props to the central VM team based on local needs and manage production.
3. On-Site Setup & Event Support:
- Supervise on-site setups (requiring travel and overnight work) or provide remote instructions to VM ambassadors/store managers.
- Lead local setups, collaborating closely with store managers, sales staff, MD, RTL, Marketing Communication, and the Central VMD team.
- Coordinate all VM aspects for fairs, local events, and exhibitions, including product allocation, display planning, prop orders/delivery, setup follow-up, and VM reporting.
4. Project Support & Reporting:
- Coordinate and supervise seasonal window installations and displays.
- Preparing regular VM reports for the Central VMD team on local visual direction, improvements, and recommendations.
- Controle support budget and intercompany budgets for all VM-related projects.
- Manage lightbox visual orders and installations in collaboration with the marketing and communication team.
- Develop and prepare various VM-related documents, display plans, presentations, and guidelines as needed for internal and external communication.
Manage and coordinate the VM team's schedule, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and timely project completion and support VM members’ operation when necessary.
