The Finance and Controlling Director leads the Finance and Controlling function and is responsible for ensuring VGJ’s financial stability, transparency, compliance and business steering. The role oversees controlling, accounting, tax and treasury activities, including business planning, forecasting, management reporting, financial statement reporting, liquidity management, tax compliance, internal controls, audit coordination and policy governance. The position provides financial insights and decision support to management, safeguards compliance with Group and local requirements, and drives process improvement, cost discipline and risk management across the company.
【Main Responsibility】
1) Overall responsibility for Finance and Controlling performance, including financial planning, management reporting, accounting, tax, treasury, internal controls and governance.
2) Providing transparent, reliable and timely financial information to support management decisions and safeguard company assets.
3) Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, Group policies, local accounting and tax requirements, audit standards and company procedures.
4) Developing and maintaining a capable, compliant and efficient Finance and Controlling organization with clear roles, documented processes and adequate controls.
5) Identifying, communicating and mitigating financial, operational and compliance risks within the function and in cross-functional business decisions.
6) Leading the Finance and Controlling organization by managing personnel and overseeing their operations.
1) Education:
-University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent.
-Professional accounting, tax, treasury or controlling qualification is desirable.
2) Language proficiency:
-Japanese: native
-English: fluent
-German: desirable
3) Working experience:
-Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in finance, controlling, accounting, tax, treasury, audit or related corporate finance functions, including several years in a leadership role in an international or multinational environment.
4) Professional skills:
-Strong knowledge of financial controlling, business planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, IFRS, JGAAP, tax, treasury, liquidity management, internal controls and audit processes.
-Ability to advise senior management, evaluate business cases, manage risks and drive cross-functional decisions.
-High integrity, sound judgment, strong communication and negotiation skills, leadership capability, analytical thinking, cost discipline and process improvement mindset.
-Proficiency in ERP, reporting and office productivity tools
-Excellent people management skill to delegate tasks to suitable personnel while motivating and advising.
